Tractor trucks can be found in varying cab types, capabilities, and axle configurations. Most are equipped with a fifth-wheel hitch for hauling a trailer.
Day cab tractors are intended for shorter day trips. There is no sleeping compartment inside the cab of the truck. These trucks are used to haul large trailers full of heavy cargo and machinery along delivery routes or to a job site.
Sleeper tractors are heavy duty vehicles meant for moving large quantities of goods in a trailer, or heavy equipment on a flatbed, over long distances. The extended cab offers a small area for the driver to sleep while on the road.
